Outgoing exchanges

Exchanges are an excellent opportunity for Royal College of Music students to broaden their horizons by getting to know another city, its language and its culture. They also provide an opportunity to study with a new teacher and to develop new contacts that can help advance your future career as a musician.

We have a large number of exchanges available with leading European, American, Japanese, South Korean and Australian music conservatories and universities. These exchanges provide an excellent opportunity to study abroad at other world-leading institutions as part of your ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app studies.

Many students who take advantage of such opportunities make connections that lead to work or study opportunities overseas when they graduate from the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app, often launching international careers.

Outgoing exchanges are normally for a period of one term during the Autumn term.

Erasmus+

The UK is re-affiliating to the European Erasmus+ exchange programme for 2027 as an associated third country. Subject to the ·¬ÇÑÖ±²¥app making a successful funding application, mobility grants to support outgoing student exchanges through this framework may be available in the 2027-28 academic year. It is not yet known whether the UK will participate in Erasmus+ in 2028 or beyond.
